Last month, Coach Jason Hackett did something incredible—he brought home gold in his division and silver in the open class at the IBJJF Pan American Championships, one of the most prestigious tournaments in our sport.
For those who know him, this wasn’t a surprise. Jason is the definition of discipline, consistency, and humility. He leads from the front—putting in the work day after day, inspiring the students he teaches, and raising the bar for what’s possible in Jiu-Jitsu when you focus on improving the process daily.
But as impressive as his accomplishment was, what moved us even more was what we witnessed on a different set of mats just this past weekend.
At the Jiu-Jitsu World League tournament in Del Mar, we watched our students—parents, professionals, business owners, electricians, teachers, kids—step into competition with courage and heart. None of them are full-time athletes. They juggle long workdays, family responsibilities, school and everything life throws at them. And yet, they still find the time and discipline to train, grow, and put themselves to the test.
Seeing them compete wasn’t just inspiring—it was humbling. Because it reminded us that Jiu-Jitsu isn’t about being the best in the world. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself—and supporting the people around you who are doing the same.
To our students: your performance, your commitment, your consistency—it all speaks volumes. You represent what this community is truly about.
We’re proud of Coach Jason’s championship performance. But we’re more proud of the community that pushes forward, shows up, and gives their best, day after day. In everything they do.
Let’s keep climbing—together, one step at a time.
